EREM dance | Tommy Cattin is a professional dance company created in 2020 in Switzerland by the Swiss-Italian choreographer and dancer Tommy Cattin.
This artistic structure aims to support Tommy Cattin's artistic creations in the field of dance and performance. Its aim is also to promote dance to a wider audience, through the organization of workshops, classes and open rehearsals in the places the company frequents during its creative periods.

Dance is the main medium explored by EREM dance. However, it is important for EREM dance to integrate in its research and creations an open and interdisciplinary approach of the performing arts, interweaving dance with all other artistic forms that can respond to it, complement it, flesh it out, sublimate it and evolve in line with its time.

Through his new creations, Tommy aims to cultivate a critical reflection on social themes that permeate today's debates and are an integral part of his personal development. These themes include issues such as gender, social constructs that push us towards a binary representation as free individuals, and the ecological sustainability of our civic choices.
He wants to address these subjects by always bringing his own body to the center of his research, which is the core of an identity vulnerability to be continually questioned. This invites the audience to an introspective experience and reflection through performance and dance.

From its creation in 2020, the company was able to perform in various performative contexts and festivals in Switzerland and abroad.
So far, Tommy Cattin has presented his creations with EREM in contexts such as the Tanzfaktor by Reso - Réseau Danse, the Quarts d'Heure at Théâtre Sévelin 36, Tanzfest Basel, Théâtre du Jura in Switzerland, or the Festival Dominio Pubblico in Rome, amongst other events.
EREM, from the French word "érème" (from the Greek word á¼”ρημος) meaning uninhabited place, place where man does not venture.

EREM dance è una compagnia professionale di danza creata nel 2020 in Svizzera dal coreografo e danzatore italo-svizzero Tommy Cattin.
L’obiettivo di EREM è anche quello di promuovere la danza ad un pubblico più ampio, attraverso l'organizzazione di workshop, classi e prove aperte nei luoghi frequentati dalla compagnia durante i periodi di creazione.
​La compagnia vuole integrare nella sua ricerca e nelle sue creazioni un approccio aperto e interdisciplinare delle arti performative, intrecciando la danza con tutte le altre forme artistiche che possono risponderle, completarla, concretizzarla, sublimarla e farla evolvere in linea con il suo tempo.

Attraverso le sue nuove creazioni, Tommy desidera coltivare una riflessione critica su temi sociali che permeano i dibattiti odierni e fanno parte integrante del suo sviluppo umano; temi come la questione di genere, le costruzioni sociali che ci spingono verso una rappresentazione binaria come individui liberi, e le questioni di sostenibilità ecologica delle nostre scelte civiche. Desidera affrontare questi argomenti portando sempre al centro della sua ricerca il proprio corpo, cuore di una vulnerabilità identitaria da continuamente interrogare, al fine di invitare il pubblico a un'esperienza e una riflessione introspettiva attraverso la performance e la danza.

Dalla sua creazione nel 2020, la compagnia ha potuto esibirsi in diversi contesti performativi e festival in Svizzera e all'estero. Finora Tommy Cattin ha presentato le sue creazioni con EREM in contesti come il Tanzfaktor di Reso - Réseau Danse Suisse, il Quarts d'Heure al Théâtre Sévelin 36, il Tanzfest Basel, il Théâtre du Jura in Svizzera, o il Festival Dominio Pubblico a Roma, tra altri eventi.
